What’s the application timeline?

Fall 2023:

  • Round 1 will run from September 18 to September 29

    • Sep 18: Round 1 apps open

    • Sep 29: Round 1 apps close

    • Oct 2: Funding awards announced, appeals open

  • Round 2 will run from October 23 to November 3

    • Oct 23: Round 2 apps open

    • Nov 3: Round 2 apps close

    • Nov 6: Funding awards announced, appeals open

INFO SESSION CALENDAR Round 1 Application

WHAT DOESN’T the UOFC FUND?

  • Activities not approved and/or not abiding by the guidelines of the Yale Community Compact and the “Events & Gatherings”

  • Activities monetarily profiting other individuals or organizations

    • The creation and upkeep of student organization bank accounts

    • Website fees unless a very strong reason is provided

    • Fundraisers that will be donating the money earned to charities

    • Paying Yale students directly (photographers, DJs, etc.)

    • Individual member dues or dues to national organizations

    • Gifts for students and/or guests

    • Honorariums for speakers

  • Travel or Living Expenses

    • Housing for students (hotels, Airbnbs, etc.)

    • Student transportation (unless travel is an integral element of the organization’s

    • Tours for performance groups

    • Student transportation to national conferences

    • Student transportation in any form (Ubers, buses, train tickets, gasoline, Zipcars, etc.)

    • International travel for guest speakers (cheapest methods of transportation for speakers should always be used)

  • Limited Yale student involvement

    • Events not targeted towards Yale students or the Yale community (for example, events for high school students)

  • Gifts or Celebrations

    • Excessive restaurant/meal expenses when cheaper alternatives exist

    • Groups are discouraged from booking expensive restaurant meals for club meetings, guest speakers, and other events, unless unavoidable

  • Alcohol, firearms, tobacco, and illegal products

  • Merchandise unless they represent an integral element of the organization's purpose

    • There is an exception if the merchandise is being used as a costume for student group events and activities.

    • Social media purchases (Snapchat filters, Facebook advertising, etc.)
